The recent defeat of the Greenlight Pinellas initiative was disappointing, but this is not the time for frustration.
Each of you has helped us take a step towards shaping a vision for a better Tampa Bay, and improving transportation is a long-term effort that goes far beyond one election.
Thank you to the hundreds of volunteers who dedicated their time to knock on doors, make phone calls to voters, wave signs, give speeches, deliver yard signs, and stuff envelopes. Thank you to those who stepped up and donated to the campaign. And thank you to the thousands of supporters who voted yes for a vision of what Pinellas County could be.
Improving transportation in the region is not an option; it’s a necessity for our economic future and our quality of life. And our efforts will not end now. The work and vision included in the Greenlight Pinellas plan will help the Tampa Bay area unite as our citizens work together to figure out how best to offer better regional transportation options.
We look forward to continuing this journey with you.
